| Mortgage Rates Drop to Record Low 2.71% |

Interest rates ticked down this past week, setting a new historic low. For the week ending December 3, the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage slipped to 2.71% with 0.70 discount points paid, according to Freddie Mac's weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey. the previous week, the average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 2.72%, also a record. A year ago, it averaged 3.68%.
