Our managing broker, Craig Cerreta, provides important insights in "Hurricanes and Housing Values." He explains in detail six key factors to consider -- 1) Extent of damage, 2) Location relative to the primary impact zone, 3) Risk of increased frequency and intensity, 4) Insurance, 5) New construction and 6) Supply and demand. His conclusion: "We can state with a high degree of confidence that similar hurricanes in the past have seen recovery followed by increasing values." "Volunteer Florida" Mobilizes Volunteers and Coordinates Donations for State of Florida Disasters
Volunteer Florida is the state's lead agency for mobilizing volunteers and coordinating donations before, during and after disasters. The Volunteer Florida Foundation also manages the Florida Disaster Fund, the official fund for aiding Florida's communities after disasters. Tax Extension
IRS Announces Tax Relief for Victims of Hurricane Ian in Florida Which Includes Automatic Tax Extensions
Individuals and households affected by Hurricane Ian in the state of Florida qualify for tax relief. For instance, deadlines falling on or after September 23, 2022, and before February 15, 2023, are postponed through February 15, 2023. For more information, read the full IRS press release at:
