If your Florida home is your primary residence, you may qualify for up to $50,000 in property-tax exemptions, plus the long-term advantage of Save Our Homes, which limits annual assessed-value increases to help keep taxes steadier over time. If you moved and bought a new primary residence, don't miss portability, which can let you transfer up to $500,000 of accrued Save Our Homes savings to your new home.

Deadline note: You must occupy the home by January 1 and apply by March 1 with your county property appraiser.
